Welcome to the first day of camp! Here is your schedule, as well as all the links to participate. The links will not be active until the first day of camp. If you have any trouble, please message us!
8:00 AM ASSEMBLY
Our main word for today is, “Identity”. In our assembly time, we will watch a funny video about identity, sing a few fun songs with Jimmy, hear an inspirational talk from Ella, and play a fun, virtual game!
8:45 AM HOMEROOM
In your homeroom time today, your group challenge is to take a screenshot with everyone in the class holding an item that represents part of their identity. After that, you will discuss the question, “Why is knowing your identity important to creativity and storytelling?”
Your individual homeroom links have been emailed to you. If you do not see it, send us a message now and we will respond with your unique homeroom link.
9:30 AM STORYTELLING CLASS
Now it is time to go to your Gnowbe App and do the first lesson of the storytelling class. During today’s class, you will learn why stories are so important, and begin to write the outline for a good story. This will take you about 45 minutes to go through the class.
10:30 AM CREATIVITY CLASS
Once you are done with your first storytelling class, you can choose one of the twelve creativity options and go through that class. You will go through a different class of your choice every day for the next five days, and on Friday you will choose one of the topics to use as your medium for telling your story. Next week, you will go more in depth with the medium of your choice.
Your options include: Photography, Song Writing, Short Video Editing, Stop-Motion Video, Digital Comics, Acting & Costume Design, Social Media & TikTok, Writing a Screenplay for a Short Film or TV Series, Web Site Design, Slam Poetry, Virtual Reality, Art and Dance.
AFTERNOON
For the rest of the day, you will work on the assignment that was given to you at the end of the first lesson of the storytelling class.
The assignment is:
Fill out the worksheet in the Gnowbe app and submit it to your homeroom teacher. The worksheet will have you write a logline for your story, as well as create a story map. You have the rest of the day to complete this assignment, and you can ask your Chinese teachers for help as you work on it. It must be submitted by the end of the day, and the worksheet should be completed in English.
